Connect to Your Existing BMS
No rip-and-replace is needed. DomeSystems reads your existing BMS and writes back only authorized setpoint and schedule commands.
Support for named platforms
DomeSystems has been tested with these building management systems. Any BMS exposing BACnet or Modbus can connect, even if unlisted.
Siemens Desigo CC
BACnet/IP integration reads every point type. Setpoint write-back uses the operator workstation API.
Johnson Controls Metasys
Connect through the Metasys Open Data Server REST API and BACnet. Read N2 legacy devices when the supervisor connects through BACnet.
Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator
BACnet/IP read access. EBI Web Services: setpoint and schedule commands on EBI R430 and later.
Schneider EcoStruxure Building
Connect to the EcoStruxure Building Operation server by REST API. Older SmartStruxure sites can use BACnet/IP instead.
Any BACnet or Modbus System
For any vendor's BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP, or Modbus RTU system, DomeSystems connects through a lightweight on-premises gateway agent.
Custom Integration Help
Portfolio customers receive a dedicated integration engineer for non-standard BMS setups, proprietary protocols, or mixed-vendor multi-site environments.
Bring building data into your systems
Optimize and Portfolio customers can use a REST API to access DomeSystems data. Create dashboards, send energy data to CMMS platforms, or automate reports.
API data available
- Zone temperature and setpoint readings every 15-minute
- Energy use by zone, floor, and building, with rolling 13-month history
- Read and write schedule endpoints for authorized zones
- Anomaly log with severity scores and recommended actions
- Portfolio endpoints aggregate cross-building summaries
Authentication and limits
API access uses bearer token authentication and organization keys with read-only or read-write scopes. Optimize: 1,000 requests per hour. Portfolio: 10,000 requests per hour. Custom SLA terms are available for Portfolio accounts on request.

The communication layer your BMS uses
DomeSystems uses the protocols your building system already supports, with nothing new to enable.
BACnet/IP
The leading commercial BMS protocol. DomeSystems reads and writes standard BACnet objects, including AI, AO, AV, BI, BO, MSV, and Trend Logs.
BACnet MS/TP
For older serial field devices and zone controllers. Connect through a BACnet router or DomeSystems gateway agent. Supports most installations built before 2010.
Modbus TCP
Common for submeters, chillers, and variable frequency drives. DomeSystems polls holding and input registers at configurable intervals.
Modbus RTU
Serial Modbus over RS-485. The on-premises gateway agent provides the bridge. Common with older HVAC equipment and power meters predating TCP.
OPC-UA
Used by industrial building systems and smart manufacturing spaces. DomeSystems connects as an OPC-UA client and subscribes to process variable nodes in real time.
REST API
Modern BMS platforms with native REST API support include Johnson Controls Metasys, Schneider EcoStruxure Building Operation, and custom supervisor endpoints.
Verify your building's compatibility
Share your BMS and building count. An integration specialist will confirm compatibility and explain the connection process.
